BitTorrent clients provide the fastest solution for sharing and downloading huge amounts of data. One of the most popular clients on the market is uTorrent, due to its high transfer speed, advanced capabilities and ease of use. It comes from the inventors of the BitTorrent open source protocol, so you can definitely expect to find the latest technologies integrated into this application.

The clean and simple design of the user interface gives you the possibility of downloading data right away, without any kind of distractions. You can find options for adding torrents from files or URLs on a toolbar, on which you can also find an option for adding RSS feeds, as well as start, stop and remove controls. When you add a new torrent, the application will present a wide range of output options, on a separate window. Besides choosing a storage folder, you can also choose which components to download, set up maximum download and upload rates and more.

Active, inactive and completed downloads can be displayed in the same list or separately, by selecting the appropriate filters, on the right side of the main interface. Downloads can be stopped at any time and resumed without loosing or damaging any data. Selecting a torrent will reveal a large amount of information, on several tabs, in the lower region of the window. uTorrent lets you know how many peers and trackers are available for a selected torrent, a speed graph and more.

The application's preferences menu includes many useful options. Besides setting up global upload and download speed limits, it is also possible to set up a transfer cap, to prevent the application from downloading more than a set amount of data, for a certain number of days. What's more, you can schedule the application to enforce your speed limits, or seed only, according to your own time table.

Pros

You can download large amounts of data fast and without any difficulties. The application provides many useful features, which are easy to understand. uTorrent is lightweight and you can have it up and running in no time.

Cons

There are no serious issues to address. If you are looking for a fast and reliable tool for transferring data, then you should look no further than uTorrent.
